**This copy has a scratched or dented COVER. The interior contents is untouched and guaranteed to be readable.
The Tale of Patrick Peyton vividly brings to life the American Apostle of the Family Rosary, Venerable Patrick Peyton. Born to a humble family in Ireland, the energetic young boy would embark on an adventure beyond his wildest dreams. His journey would take him to the United States where he would find his true calling as a priest of the Congregation of Holy Cross and promoter of family prayer.
Father Peyton was ambitious in his mission and contacted popular Hollywood actors and actresses, such as Bing Crosby and Loretta Young, to help him convince families everywhere, “The family that prays together stays together.”
Using television, radio and film, Father Peyton was a modern-day missionary who went on to encourage devotion to the Blessed Mother and inspire families to pray together. His inspiring life story is now made accessible for the first time in a comic book format.
Printed in a saddle-stitch paperback comic book.

This is a beautifully created comic that is fun but not undignified, is very Catholic and could be appreciated by kids or adults. There is some famous-name dropping that might not mean much to children. Fr Peyton especially models a life of prayer and turning to God with all needs (school, illness etc), devotion to Mary and praying the Rosary, by oneself or in the family. His vocation story is also a really edifying element. I am a catechist and bought the Tale of Patrick Peyton because I make all my 6th grade catechism students read a saint biography during Lent. Some are ESL students, MOST speak Spanish at home, some low reading level, or reluctant readers and for them I need things that are appropriate for a 6th grader but engaging and easy to read and understand and has catechetical and faith formation value. Also it needs to be affordable since I buy these things myself and kids don't always return them (and considering the coronavirus situation I maybe just lost ALL the saint books I distributed this year.. which is okay and it is to be hoped that they do read it). Fr Peyton is not a canonized saint yet but this is the kind of thing that is really suitable for our use. The scratch/dent copies i received were perfect for my purposes and had only the most minor rubbing to the covers.
These sure were not very scratched and dented! Great shape for a great price. Thank you!
