Such a loving look at choices for those in an unplanned pregnancy. My teenage granddaughter was a bit shocked after reading a couple pages and came to ask me if I was sure I had read the book through and if it was ok for her to continue. When I told her yes to both she finished the book and said she really liked the book but was a bit concerned at the beginning. Great book that holds a teenagers attention!!
I thought the messaging clear and poignant. My only hesitation is how it will be perceived by young people.
What makes this book stand out is how it lets the reader decide how the story ends for the two characters, Josh and Casey, by variantly exploring what life looks like after every choice (abortion, adoption, raising the child on their own). This comic handles each of those options with respect and sensitivity, I believe honors how kids would react themselves, and wonderfully brings the topic of teen pregnancy to a medium teens know better than anyone.
This is a wonderfully written, honest and compassionate book that will help teens understand and navigate the challenging issues surrounding an unplanned teen pregnancy. I recommend for church, youth group and school use. Well done!
