A Great and Beautiful Compilation!

The Voyage Comics Treasure Chest: The Mass compilation is great!! Not only does this bring back to print with restored art the Treasure Chest comics, but it compiles what would have been spread out in multiple issues that were released in all over the place dates. This is great since you can see them all together in chronological order all in one publication.

Yes, these comics technically are in the Public Domain and can be read legally online, but those aren’t restored or nicely compiled to connect things spread throughout many issues. Also, supporting physical media, in this case, reissues, is very important. Digital files can corrupt and get lost over time. We can never go wrong with physical media as we don’t have to worry about file corruption. Supporting reissues ensures that this beautiful part of our Catholic history for kids doesn’t get lost with time.

Also, this comic, although from the 40s-60s is still very useful in educating our children in the Mass and its roots. I although older, 22 to be exact, got something out of it, learning the history of how the structure came to be in the Mass. I hadn’t gotten to researching this in my faith journey yet, but I am so glad that this was the way I came to learn this history with beautiful classic restored comic book art!

The supporting stories of St. Dominic Savio and Blessed Imelda Lambertini are so fitting for this compilation! They encompass the beautiful examples we have in the faith of how devoted and grateful we should be of the Mass and Holy Communion! It is also very relatable for the child target audience having the selected Saints be children themselves!

This is such a great gift for someone’s First Communion!

Glad to see some of this older material available to kids!

This is a well done lesson on the basics of the Mass, colorfully presented with little snippets of facts and history so as not to overwhelm. Some of the details were new to me!
The two saint short stories were a nice accompaniment.
If you enjoy or at least don't mind the older 1940's artwork, then you should pick this up for a curious older child.

History of the Mass in a simple format

As I was reading this, I kept saying over and over, 'so that's where that came from.' The modern mind tends to look at the Holy Mass as stale and unscriptural, but there are so many elements of it that are millennia old that are the fruit of centuries of worshipping our Lord. The Bible is constantly cited throughout the Mass, and this comic book draws out that in specific instances. Take and read--open your heart even more to Our Lord Jesus in the Mass!

I love the stories of St. Dominic Savio and Blessed Imelda Lambertini. Great models for kids, especially those receiving their First Holy Communion.

The perfect book to learn history of the mass

This book is perfect for anyone who would want to learn about the history of the mass the panels are engaging and the Art restoration is great. the two saints that are shown at the end of the book and there story's are portrayed near perfectly I do recommend it for any one who is interested in learning i don't think you can give this book to any kid and they'll like it or read it but if they are in search for knowledge on the mass or the saints in this book then its perfect.

Awesome teaching tool

There are a lot of words on the pages, so children might need some help. That said, it’s a very nice mix of history and practical information followed by two beloved saints who loved the Mass and Eucharist so much. A great combination! This would be a great gift for a Sacrament or even a comic book loving convert!
