Set in Chicago during the 1920s, Martin struggles to find his place in the world. He suffered a debilitating leg injury as a fighter pilot in World War I and is rejected by society. Without the support of family or the ability to work, Martin is a homeless veteran roaming the streets of Chicago, living off of scraps of food he finds.

That is, until he rises from the ashes.

Through a series of unlikely events, Martin discovers that his knowledge of the streets can actually help the country he fought to defend. Working in the shadows as if he was a “phantom,” he encounters criminals and crime scenes, giving the police the hints and clues they need to clean-up the streets of Chicago.

Strong first offering. Solid art and interesting story. Scripting could use a little work as it was a little awkward in a few spots (and there was one seeming typo that editorial should've caught). My only other criticism is that this book needs to be put out on a more frequent basis! I've got both issues published so far and am really looking forward to #3 (and beyond!).

Great!

I finally got to sit and read issue one and enjoyed it quite a bit. Went right into the action. I’m looking forward to reading #2 soon, and hope we get his backstory (all at once or in bits) as the story progresses.
My only criticism is that I wish it was a little clearer that he’s meant to be a black man. Had I not known that going in, I’d have guessed the character was Puerto Rican.

Wonderful comic book. Great comic book story.

Phantom Phoenix is a great fun comic story that is just here to entertain. No underlining motives or social/political agendas. Just a great comic book about the good fighting the bad guys. A great read for all comic book fans. Keep up the great work.

Comments from my 12 year old grandson

Would like to see more about Phoenix, perhaps a thicker comic book in the future. I like the classic comic style. It is a good comic for a five minute read.
